Château Rauzan-Ségla, ranked as a second growth in the 1855 classification of Margaux, is renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon–driven blend with richness and concentration.
Founded in 1661 by Pierre Desmezures, who also owned Margaux and Latour, the estate later passed to the Baroness of Ségla, who gave it its current name. In 1994, Chanel acquired Rauzan-Ségla, adding it to a portfolio that includes Château Canon in Bordeaux and St. Supéry in Napa.
Since Chanel’s acquisition, quality has markedly improved: machine harvesting was eliminated, vineyards are managed plot by plot, and grapes are hand-sorted before aging in fine oak barrels. Under the leadership of Nicolas Audebert, Rauzan-Ségla has been restored to its full splendour, embodying Chanel’s philosophy of precision and artistry. Today, Rauzan-Ségla is admired for its elegance, balance, and consistency, often considered one of the finest among the second growths.

Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2013 Rauzan-Ségla gives up notes of warm plums, Morello cherries, cassis and espresso with hints of dried Provence herbs, woodsmoke and damp soil. Medium bodied, the palate gives lovely freshness and bags of earth-laced red and black fruits with a chewy texture and a lively herbal lift on the finish.

Extremely perfumed and pretty for the vintage with rose petal, currant, berry and hints of citrus. Medium to full body, firm tannins and refreshing acidity. Flavorful and bright.
