Teaninich is a Highland distillery known for supplying malt primarily for Diageo's blends, such as Johnnie Walker, Vat 69, and Haig. Established in 1817, it has been under the ownership of Distiller's Company Ltd (DCL) since the 1930s.
The late renowned whisky writer, Michael Jackson, described its style as robust, toffee-like, spicy, and leafy, making it ideal for after dinner or restorative moments.
About Flora and Fauna Collection
In 1991, United Distillers, now Diageo, launched a collection featuring 22 single malt whiskies from its distilleries, and Teaninich was one of them. Since many of its distilleries primarily produced blends, this collection offered a rare opportunity for the public to experience the original single malt spirit.
Initially, the collection had no official name when it was first released in 1991. It was later coined by Michael Jackson, who referred to the label depictions. Today, Flora and Fauna collection is becoming increasingly rare and is recognized as one of the most distinguished collections in the whisky world.

The aroma starts fresh and citrusy with oranges and lemons, hinting at violets. It shifts to concentrated orange juice and light cereal notes. Overall, it's clean and inviting. With water, it softens and sweetens, revealing clover flowers and a hint of beeswax.
Palate:
Light and sweetish, but overall dry with pleasant acidity and even a pinch of salt.
Finish:
Long and dry. The beeswax returns in the aftertaste.
