Michele Chiarlo is a producer in the northern Italian region of Piedmont, specializing in wines from its best-known sub-regions: Barolo, Barbaresco, Asti and Gavi.

The winery was established by Michele Chiarlo in 1956 with inaugural vintages of Barbera and Moscato from Asti. The winery produced its first Barolo in 1958 and, in 1987, bought part of the prestigious Cerequio vineyard, which is informally considered to be one of Barolo's "cru" sites.

Tasting Notes:
The 2010 Barolo Riserva Cerequio celebrates elegance and nuance. The wine has a sultry and silky feel, and it will age nicely as those tannins become silkier and better integrated in time. There is solid grit and fullness here, with loads of fruit-driven intensity.
