GlenDronach是蘇格蘭史上首批獲得牌照的蒸餾廠,自1826年以來就是使用雪莉桶來熟成的先驅。過去一直堅持用炭火直接加熱蒸餾,直至2005年才改用蒸氣加熱。
2016年,Rachel Barrie博士被任命為GlenDronach、Benriach和Glenglassaugh蒸餾廠的首席調酒師。她被譽為是蘇格蘭威士忌界的第一夫人,亦是首位獲愛丁堡大學授予榮譽博士學位的女性調酒師,以表揚她對威士忌的專業知識和過去近30年的服務。

Nose Soft smoke and lemon juice, cedar wood, apple peel, toasty oak, soft earth, date and walnut cake and a hint of freshly made espresso.

Palate Golden syrup, soft, juicy raisins, tangy oak notes, peach, cherry blossom, cocoa and honeydew melon.

Finish Sherry tones lead the finish, with a hint of sulphur, chocolate, luscious fruit and pepper.




The GlenDronach  was one of the first licensed distilleries in Scotland and it was an early pioneer of sherry cask maturation since 1826. The distillery was one of the last to heat the stills by coal fire and converts to steam heating in 2005. 
In 2016, Dr. Rachel Barrie is appointed Master Blender of The GlenDronach, Benriach and Glenglassaugh distilleries. She is commonly known as Scotland’s First Lady of whisky. She became the first female master blender to be awarded an honorary doctorate by her alma mater the University of Edinburgh. In bestowing the honour, the university cited Rachel Barrie’s “expertise and service to the whisky industry”.
