Pierre-Vincent Girardin (PVG) is one of Burgundy's most exciting rising stars. Born into a long-established winemaking family, he founded his own domaine in 2017 at just 21 years old, quickly earning recognition for his precise, terroir-focused wines. His whites are aged in custom 456-litre oak barrels with minimal bâtonnage, while long, gentle pressing and a low-intervention philosophy help preserve purity, tension and site expression.
La Romanée is widely regarded as one of Chassagne-Montrachet's finest Premier Cru vineyards. Located on the upper southwestern slope just below the forest line, it is characterised by shallow soils over limestone-rich bedrock. This austere, rocky terroir gives rise to wines of pronounced minerality, remarkable tension and excellent ageing potential.
